Textile producers in Turkey are now looking for ways that would help them compete with leading textile companies from China, while adhering to their own terms.

Turkish Deco Team, an initiative of the Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association, or UIB, from Turkish Textile Industry Centre Bursa, intends to reach lakhs of affluent Chinese purchasers of home textiles, by displaying their products at a Chinese textile fair, together with 32 other companies from Turkey.

Turkey is committed to have Chinese people as dedicated buyers for country’s home textiles.

Turkish companies would display the latest and most fashionable home textile designs at the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textile Fair, which is scheduled to take place in the Eastern Chinese province of Shanghai, from September 24 to September 26.

Though Turkey holds a strong position in the textiles market, but then the exporters there are also aware that China is one of the world’s leading producers of textiles. However, this does not prevent them from targeting Chinese customers.

Experts say that, the producers though should keep in mind that China, each year imports around $1.2 trillion dollar worth goods.

The group of textile companies functioning under the name of DECO intends to reach out to the Chinese millionaires, buying home textile items from overseas markets. Affluent Chinese people, instead of purchasing Chinese products, rather prefer buying imported items from the European countries.
